Godfrey Chan 0f33d70e89 Improved compatibility with the stdlib JSON gem. Previously, calling `::JSON.{generate,dump}` sometimes causes unexpected failures such as intridea/multi_json#86. `::JSON.{generate,dump}` now bypasses the ActiveSupport JSON encoder completely and yields the same result with or without ActiveSupport. This means that it will not call `as_json` and will ignore any options that the JSON gem does not natively understand. To invoke ActiveSupport's JSON encoder instead, use `obj.to_json(options)` or `ActiveSupport::JSON.encode(obj, options)`.		2013-11-14 15:46:43 -08:00

= Active Support -- Utility classes and Ruby extensions from Rails

Active Support is a collection of utility classes and standard library
extensions that were found useful for the Rails framework. These additions
reside in this package so they can be loaded as needed in Ruby projects
outside of Rails.


== Download and installation

The latest version of Active Support can be installed with RubyGems:

  % [sudo] gem install activesupport
