also made some other improvements
- make it work in weight paint vert sel mode (some unused code for this was in the function).
- add factor slider.
- add to weight paint toolbar.
- Even option (like solidify even option)
- Relative option (insets based on lengths of surrounding edges)
TODO: merge tares when 2+ face corners meet but don't form a contiguous region.
* made bmesh_structure.h function names more consistant.
* remove unused code in bmesh_structure.c
* removed 'Edge Flip' operator (missing from bmesh but looked into trunk feature and dont think its worth keeping).
* tagged some BMESH_TODO's
Freestyle edge/face marks were ported to BMesh.

- Hide Manipulate center points in sculpt and particle edit modes
- Hide 3D manipulators and orientation from sculpt mode
- Hide snap buttons in sculpt, weight, texture, vertex and particle painting modes
All this options weren't make sense in this modes and might only confuse user.
This will resolve issue #30180: 3D View header buttons and modes
For vertex/weight/texture paint, this has only the flags for using
unified size/strength. (Addresses TODO in code, before only sculpt
menu had these settings.)
For sculpt, moved the brush-related settings from the sculpt menu to
the brush menu.
Note that these menus are still very out of date (missing lots of
options), will address that in a different commit.
This is a kind of simplification/cleanup tool which joins adjacent faces and edges based on the angle.
I've written this as an exercise (since I havnt written a bmesh operator before), and because quite a few users were asking for the dissolve operator to be extended, but I think this kind of functionality needs its own operator.
access from specials menu and mesh menu.
notes
* this exposed a bug in angle_v3v3v3(). will merge fix into trunk after release.
* added utility function BM_vert_edge_angle(), to get the angle between 2 connecting edges of a vert.
*** use-case:
"I have 10 reference images that overlap each other and every time I want to see one, I need to change the transparency of all the others.
therefore it would be nice to have a little button by each menu to allow enable/disabling individual background images"
To avoid subversioning bump I created a define that is negative (DISABLED) and of course a rna that is a boolean_negative.
Talked with Campbell and he actually prefers this way over do_version, so there it goes.
This should fix an error with generated qtcreator projects.
also replace decoded bytes for unicode escape sequences in the VIEW3D_MT_edit_text_chars menu.
- Changed some names so now people who aren't really familiar with
motion tracking can understand what they exactly means
- Also cleaned up and rephraded some descriptions
- Changed behavior of operator which creates empty for 2d tracks:
now it operates on all selected tracks rather than active track only
- Added checkbox to enable/disable rotation stabilization
- Move tracking-related constraints to own section in list
Currently there are only two constraints, so can look a bit odd,
but it'll be other constraints like "Object Solver" and so.
- Move motion-tracking parameters from 3D viewport Display panel
to it's own panel.
- Get rid of "Bundle" in 3d viewport. It's quite obvious that it's
a 3D representation of tracks is used in 3D viewport and it shouldn't
be so confusing for artists now.
- Also get rid of "Bundle" in Follow Track constraint.
Old files can change a bit because of changes in DNA.
- Also get rid of "Bundles" in operator which creates vertices cloud
from 3D position of tracks.
- Rename "Principal Point" to "Optical Center" in the interface.

source/blender/makesrna/RNA_enum_types.h
source/blender/render/intern/source/shadeinput.c
source/blenderplayer/bad_level_call_stubs/stubs.c
Additional changes:
* source/blender/makesrna/intern/rna_linestyle.c: Fixed white
space issues that generated a number of compiler errors. The
problem was that two string literals for enumerating MA_RAMP_SOFT
and MA_RAMP_LINEAR contained a space. The string literals are
supposed to represent a valid C identifier because of their use
for automatic code generation.
* Stroke transparency has been temporarily disabled due to a
functionality conflict with some merged changes. A fix of this
issue is planned.
===========================
Commiting camera tracking integration gsoc project into trunk.
This commit includes:
- Bundled version of libmv library (with some changes against official repo,
re-sync with libmv repo a bit later)
- New datatype ID called MovieClip which is optimized to work with movie
clips (both of movie files and image sequences) and doing camera/motion
tracking operations.
- New editor called Clip Editor which is currently used for motion/tracking
stuff only, but which can be easily extended to work with masks too.
This editor supports:
* Loading movie files/image sequences
* Build proxies with different size for loaded movie clip, also supports
building undistorted proxies to increase speed of playback in
undistorted mode.
* Manual lens distortion mode calibration using grid and grease pencil
* Supervised 2D tracking using two different algorithms KLT and SAD.
* Basic algorithm for feature detection
* Camera motion solving. scene orientation
- New constraints to "link" scene objects with solved motions from clip:
* Follow Track (make object follow 2D motion of track with given name
or parent object to reconstructed 3D position of track)
* Camera Solver to make camera moving in the same way as reconstructed camera
This commit NOT includes changes from tomato branch:
- New nodes (they'll be commited as separated patch)
- Automatic image offset guessing for image input node and image editor
(need to do more tests and gather more feedback)
- Code cleanup in libmv-capi. It's not so critical cleanup, just increasing
readability and understanadability of code. Better to make this chaneg when
Keir will finish his current patch.
More details about this project can be found on this page:
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Nazg-gul/GSoC-2011
Further development of small features would be done in trunk, bigger/experimental
features would first be implemented in tomato branch.
This means that you don't need to have the view panel open all the
time, reducing the amount of scrolling required just to be able to
precisely position the 3D cursor at specific coordinates while
changing some other settings. While most of the settings in the View
panel are less likely to be frequently changed, the 3D cursor can in
some workflows end up needing to be accessed quite frequently.
from Troy Sobotka (sobotka), with edits
- remove Markers from Ctrl+L menu (was out of place here and was broken from recent changes to marker operators)
- further de-duplicte scripts by having all menus call the same function: marker_menu_generic().
this fixes bug [#29083] too.
* Scene.use_shading_nodes property to check if RenderEngine is using new shading
nodes system, and RenderEngine.bl_use_shading_nodes to set this.
* Add mechanism for tagging nodes as being compatible with the old/new system.
It now had issues when hiding menus with the - icon, space selector disappeared.
I am sorry for that, but I consider this a show stopper eventually. :(
This commit introduces the issue with narrowed verts/edge/face select in solid/edit mode again.
* Vert/Edge/Face select buttons looked crappy when in EditMode and Wireframe shading. Fixed it.
This commit makes the View3D Template a bit narrower in general, but it's very minor, should be no problem.
This also fixes some weird increase/decrease of the 3D Mode selector menu when toggling between Textured/Solid and Wireframe/Boundbox shading.
- cmake/windows was installing locale & font when internationalization was disabled, twice when enabled.
- file selector was using the string size-1, where this isn't needed since string buttons expected this value to be the sizeof(), accounting for '\0'.
- use const char for extension checking funcs.
- minor pep8 edits
- add quick effects to object menu, these are too useful to hide in search menu.
- set/clear track/parent - expand the operators enums in submenus - no advantage in having a further popup after clicking on the menu item.
- move 'Join UVs' into Make links menu which is currently being abused to store some copy functions. Do this because the 'Object' menu is getting too big.
New "face marks" and "edge marks" have been introduced in mesh data
blocks. In the edit mode of a mesh object, face marks can be put
to selected faces by choosing Mesh >> Faces >> Mark Freestyle Face
from the menu of a 3D View window or Ctrl-F >> Mark Freestyle Face
from the context menu. Similarly, edge marks can be put to selected
edges by Mesh >> Edges >> Mark Freestyle Edge or Ctrl-E >> Mark
Freestyle Edge. These marks should work fine with the Subdivision
surface modifier.
Moreover, two new conditions for feature edge selection have been
added to the Parameter Editor mode as described below:
1. The Selection by Edge Types option has now the new Edge Mark type,
which can be used to (de)select feature edges having edge marks.
This option can be used to add to (or remove from) the view map
arbitrary edges of mesh objects.
2. Selection by Face Marks option has been newly introduced, in which
face marks are used for feature edge selection in two ways. One
option is called "One Face" which is to (de)select feature edges if
one of faces on the left and right of each feature edge has a face
mark. The other option is "Both Faces" to (de)select feature edges
if both faces on the left and right have a face mark.
- removed some unused functions.
- renamed vars to make more sense paint_vertex.c 'flags' --> 'lock_flags'
- some odd modifications were made in unrealted, commented code, copy these back from trunk.
- rename vertex_group_fix 'cp' property to 'accuracy'
- make style more consistant with trunk.
- remove 'Radish' comments.
- Make gettext stuff draw-time. so switching between languages
can happens without restart now.
- Added option to translate visible interface (menus, buttons, labels)
and tooltips. Now it's possible to have english UI and localized tooltips.
- Clean-up sources, do not use gettext stuff for things which can be
collected with RNA.
- Fix issues with windows 64bit and ru_RU locale on my desktop
(it was codepage issue).
- Added operator "Get Messages" which generates new text block with
with all strings collected from RNA.
- Changed script for updating blender.pot so now it appends
messages collected from rna to automatically gathered messages.
To update .pot you have to re-generate messages.txt using "Get Messages"
operator and then run update_pot script.
- Clean up old translation stuff which wasn't used and most probably
wouldn't be used.
- Return back "International Fonts" option, so if it's disabled, no
gettext lookups happens on draw.
- Merged read_homefile function back. No need in splitting it.
TODO:
- Custom fonts and font size.
Current font isn't nice at least for russian locale, it's
difficult to read it.
- Put references to messages.txt so gettext can merge translation when
name/description of some property changes.
- renaming a bone could crash if the area had to spaces in it (reported by Sebastian Koenig).
- renaming bones wouldn't update inactive 3d views locked bone names.
- selecting locked bones in the UI didnt work in editmode.
--it's still really simplistic (and slow!) so don't try fixing an entire mesh! xD
Also, don't use it on a mesh with a mirror modifier yet, just noticed that it does both vertices instead of one.
Minor UI text update for Vertex Masking
* Added back icon to open the Splash Screen in the info header, next to version string info.
* Removed an unnecessary toggle argument for particle mode select buttons. The Toggle argument is only intended for booleans, not enums.
Toggling options on the selection is better done as a generic operator.
Replace ARMATURE_OT_flags_set and POSE_OT_flags_set with WM_OT_context_collection_boolean_set and use menus to access it with specific settings.
This way its easy make a key shortcut which toggles any boolean on any collection - sequences, metaballs, objects, bones etc.
- comment/remove assignments from values to themselves.
- add case break statements (no functional change but some source code checkers notice).
- fix python errors when the sculpt brush is None.
and select loose verts/edges:
----------------------------------------------
Split select by number of vertices and select
loose verts/edges into seperate functions.
Previously select by number of vertices was
also accessed through two different UI items,
"Select Quads" and "Select Triangles". Now
it is one function with a integer property
for selecting the size of the face you want
selected.
Also added an option to modify the behavior
of the selection. Can now select whether you
want to select faces that have vertices
equal to, less than or greater than the number
of vertices in operator property.
