----------------------------------
While we are more and more moving towards enabling features in the Python API, it's also important to have Logic Bricks working with no scripts.
This option allows you to start the game with the mouse cursor on (it's on Render Buttons). The defalt is still off (no do_version needed here).
Problem/Bug:
------------
There were no way to have proper unicode characters (e.g. Japanese) in Blender Game Engine. Now we can :)
You can see a sample here: http://blog.mikepan.com/multi-language-support-in-blender/
Functionality Explanation:
--------------------------
This patch converts the Blender Font Objects to a new BGE type: KX_FontObject
This object inherits KX_GameObject.cpp and has the following properties:
- text (the text of the object)
- size (taken from the Blender object, usually is 1.0)
- resolution (1.0 by default, maybe not really needed, but at least for debugging/the time being it's nice to have)
The way we deal with linked objects is different than Blender. In Blender the text and size are a property of the Text databock. Therefore linked objects necessarily share the same text (and size, although the size of the object datablock affects that too). In BGE they are stored and accessed per object. Without that it would be problematic to have addObject adding texts that don't share the same data.
Known problems/limitations/ToDo:
--------------------------------
1) support for packed font and the <builtin>
2) figure why some fonts are displayed in a different size in 3DView/BGE (BLF)
3) investigate some glitches I see some times
4) support for multiline
5) support for more Blender Font Object options (text aligment, text boxes, ...)
[1] Diego (bdiego) evantually will help on that. For the time being we are using the "default" (ui) font to replace the <builtin>.
[2] but not all of them. I need to cross check who is calculating the size/dpi in/correctly - Blender or BLF. (e.g. fonts that work well - MS Gothic)
[3] I think this may be related to the resolution we are drawing the font
[4] It can't/will not be handled inside BFL. So the way I see it is to implement a mini text library/api that works as a middlelayer between the drawing step and BLF.
So instead of:
BLF_draw(fontid, (char *)text, strlen(text));
We would do:
MAGIC_ROUTINE_IM_NOT_BLF_draw(fontir, (char *)text, styleflag, width, height);
[5] don't hold your breath ... but if someone wants to have fun in the holidays the (4) and (5) are part of the same problem.
Code Explanation:
-----------------
The patch should be simple to read. They are three may parts:
1) BL_BlenderDataConversion.cpp:: converts the OB_FONT object into a KX_FontObject.cpp and store it in the KX_Scene->m_fonts
2) KetsjiEngine.cpp::RenderFonts:: loop through the texts and call their internal drawing routine.
3) KX_FontObject.cpp::
a) constructor: load the font of the object, and store other values.
b) DrawText: calculate the aspect for the given size (sounds hacky but this is how blf works) and call the render routine in RenderTools
4) KX_BlenderGL.cpp (called from rendertools) ::BL_print_game_line:: Draws the text. Using the BLF API
*) In order to handle visibility of the object added with AddObject I'm adding to the m_scene.m_fonts list only the Fonts in a visible layer - unlike Cameras and Lamps where all the objects are added.

Thanks Benoit for the review and adjustment suggestions.
Thanks Diego for the BFL expertise, patches and support (Latin community ftw)
Thanks my boss for letting me do part of this patch during work time. Good thing we are starting a project in a partnership with a Japanese Foundation and eventual will need unicode in BGE :) for more details on that - www.nereusprogram.org - let's call it the main sponsor of this "bug feature" ;)
Simple python benchmark shows this to be about 3x faster in the case where an update isn't needed.
This also speeds up rna function argument parsing, since each arg in a function call did 2 string lookups on the context which were never needed.
globbing vs explicit is discussed here.
http://www.cmake.org/pipermail/cmake/2008-December/025694.html
Practical implications are:
- developers need to keep CMakeLists.txt files up to date.
- Users wont get strange linking errors if they build after a file is added, since CMake detects CMakeLists.txt is modified and automatically reconfigure.
Both stored the filename of the blend file, but G.sce stored the last opened file.
This will make blender act differently in some cases since a relative path to the last opened file will no longer resolve (which is correct IMHO since that file isnt open and the path might not even be valid anymore).
Tested linking with durian files and rendering to relative paths when no files is loaded however we may need to have some operators give an error if they are used on the default startup.blend.
- omit render code from this warning (cmake only), until render branch is merged.
- moved -Wunused-parameter warning to apply to all C code in blender (not just ./source/blender), (cmake only).
- removed deprecated bitmap arg from IMB_allocImBuf (plugins will need updating).
- mostly tagged UNUSED() since some of these functions look like they may need to have the arguments used later.
The FullScreen state was never set. Therefore the window boundary was returning the wrong dimensions (it was assuming that it was not fullscreen).
* Note: blender.exe -W has a similar problem. We are working on that ...
Tested in Windows only. If someone can test in Linux and OSX please let me know if it's good there as well. To test it: ./blenderplayer -f myfile.blend
After last commit I realized that we have a different behavior when running blenderplayer or a runtime. Reason being is that when running blenderplayer the filename is mandatory. While in runtime mode it has no use for it (it can still be passed, but it makes no difference).
I also updated the -h (help) message to be multiplataform and to pass the filename argument only when in blenderplayer mode.
If someone wants to have fun it would be nice to port the blender new parsing code to the gameplayer.
* note: how come "noaudio" is used in the examples but it's not in the options list? *ouch*
I'm leaving as it's in case noaudio get implemented ...
argc always include the filename, therefore all the optional parameters should check for < argc instead of <=argc.
E.g. That was causing "blenderplayer -f 800 600 myfile.blend" to play in a wrong Bpp (since it was trying to parse the filename to fullScreenBpp).
Bug introduced on rev. 16448 (in 2.49) and merged to 2.5 in rev. 19323
tile cache code in imbuf, but it is not hooked up to the render engine.
Imbuf module: some small refactoring and removing a lot of unused or old code
(about 6.5k lines).
* Added a ImFileType struct with callbacks to make adding an file format type,
or making changes to the API easier.
* Move imbuf init/exit code into IMB_init()/IMB_exit() functions.
* Increased mipmap levels from 10 to 20, you run into this limit already with
a 2k image.
* Removed hamx, amiga, anim5 format support.
* Removed colormap saving, only simple colormap code now for reading tga.
* Removed gen_dynlibtiff.py, editing this is almost as much work as just
editing the code directly.
* Functions removed that were only used for sequencer plugin API:
IMB_anim_nextpic, IMB_clever_double, IMB_antialias, IMB_gamwarp,
IMB_scalefieldImBuf, IMB_scalefastfieldImBuf, IMB_onethird, IMB_halflace,
IMB_dit0, IMB_dit2, IMB_cspace
* Write metadata info into OpenEXR images. Can be viewed with the command
line utility 'exrheader'
For the image tile cache code, see this page:
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:2.5/Source/Imaging/ImageTileCache
Tested with GameLogic.mouse.position and mouse over sensor.
It should be working with other mouse sensor as well. If not, please help to test and report a bug.
(couldn't test blenderplayer but it should be working there as well).
(Benoit, this is the same patch that I sent you. I hope it's OOP enough. Looking forward to hear from you on that)
I believe that this was the last "mouse" related bug we had reported. MouseLoook scripts should be working 100% in Blender/BGE 2.50 now \o/
The patch exposes mouse and keyboard read-only properties in the GameLogic module
Also renames bge.keys to bge.events (* Note: name of bge submodules (logic, render, ...) may change before 2.5 final release [right Campbell?]).
"""
This patch adds two new types to the BGE:
SCA_PythonKeyboard
SCA_PythonMouse
These two types allow users to make use of the keyboard and mouse without the need for a keyboard or mouse sensor.
SCA_PythonKeyboard has an events property that acts just like SCA_KeyboardSensor.events.
SCA_PythonMouse also has an events property to check for mouse events. Further more it supports getting and setting normalized cursor position (from 0.0 to 1.0) with SCA_PythonMouse.position. The cursor can be shown/hidden using SCA_PythonMouse.visible.
"""
Its use is similar with current mouse and keyboard controllers. With the exception of mouse position being normalized and writable as well (replacing Rasterizer.setMousePosition).
Code Sample:
######
from bge import logic, events
mouse = logic.mouse
keyboard = logic.keyboard
for key,status in keyboard.events:
if status == logic.KX_INPUT_JUST_ACTIVATED:
if key == events.WKEY:
print(mouse.position)
# move_forward()
mouse.visible = True # turn cursor visible
mouse.position = 0.5,0.5 # centralize mouse - use tuple
######
* Important Note: mouse.position still will not work properly for Letterbox mode.
In order to fix letterboxing I may need to move the set x,y mouse function to inside the canvas code (to avoid duplicated code between mouse sensor and bge.logic.mouse). I'll leave this for another commit though.
Thanks Mitchell for the work on that.
In Blender 2.49 the win width and height were been calculated including an extra pixel (e.g. a fullscreen editor would be (width + 1) by (height + 1) )
In opposite to that, Blender 2.5 window/editor code were fixed to have the exact width, height size.
So although the BGE canvas code was still the same as 2.49 it was producing a wrong result.
I'm also adding some commentaries in the setViewport code. BGE is setting the viewports 1 pixel larger.
the setViewport command is been used as if one should pass (minx, miny, width, height), while it should be (minx, miny, maxx, maxy). I will take care of that later, if any one has extra comments on that, please let me know.
* gameplayer is now probably not going to build without PNG turned ON.
To fix that it would be necessary to use #ifndef NOPNG around the GPC_Canvas::MakeScreenShot.
Since I don't this function it's working in 2.5 yet it's better to wait for that before doing it.
Originally we had 2DFilters (m_filtermanager) stored in RenderTools. That way filters were stored globally and were being called once per each scene. This was producing two big problems: (1) performance and (2) flexibility of use.
(1) Performance - To run the filters 2X == 2X slower
(2) flexibility of use - Very often we want the filter in the scene but not in the UI for example.
For those reasons I believe that 2DFilters with multiple scenes was very useless or unpredictable. I hope they work fine now.
To make it work as before (2.4) you can simply recreate the 2dfilter actuators across the scenes.
* * * * *
Imagine that we have:
(a) Main Scene
(b) Overlay Scene
in Main Scene the Z Buffer and RGB will be from the main scene.
in Overlay Scene the Z Buffer will be from the Overlay Scene and the RBG buffer is from both [(a + 2D Filter) + b].
So in pseudo code if we have a,b,c,d,e scenes we have: (2DFilterE(2DFilterD(2DFilterC(2DFilterB(2DFilterA(a) + b) + c) + d) + e)
I forgot to say in the last commit that those arguments are only for the BlenderPlayer.
we can now set external warpdata files.
2Do:
(1) convert relative to absolute paths for warpdata files
(2) investigate weird bug on lack of light in blenderplayer with warpmesh
... [old 2Do]
(3) documentation
(4) preserve scene settings (at least scene->gm.dome) even if you load a new file inside the game (e.g. Yo Frankie loading new levels)
2Do:
(1) open external warpdata file
(2) documentation
(3) preserve scene settings (at least scene->gm.dome) even if you load a new file inside the game (e.g. Yo Frankie loading new levels)
otherwise it's a nightmare to update all your files every time you change your projection system. See note.
Maybe SYS_WriteCommandLineInt/Float/String can be used for that. Gotta investigate further.
* Note: an external warpdata file is a must ! Currently every time you need to calibrate your system you have to update the warp file in all your demo files. This is terrible. I'm glad I *now* have a dome near by to test it ;)
* FYI: A recent 'Yo Frankie in a dome' video if you want to see how it works: http://www.vimeo.com/9629626 I'm going to record a better one tomorrow.
(1) the new text suggest what was the default eye separation before. Now I'm confident that changing the eye separation for the UI is a good move
(2) no big deal here. It's not reading the parameter from the command line. But does it ever read it?
(3) stubs.c update and glew linking statically. patch by Mitchell Stokes, thanks for that.
And now we finish 2009 with a building blenderplayer =D
* Added GLEW_STATIC where necessary to make Blender compile again
* First attempt at compiling blenderplayer again - compiles, but doesn't link yet
* removed deprecated SND_ functions from blenderplayer
1) SetDisplayArea was created in Blender but we forgot to set it in the player
2) Fix some SCons incs (using lists instead of strings)
3) added more nasty stubs calls (this file is getting big)
* typo fix from last commit
**) it's raining with bolts here and I have to turn the internet off. I couldnt hard test this commit but it looks like working. sorry if sometihng go wrong
a system crash and other issues on ATI/Apple, due to a buggy driver
(similar issues reported for other OpenGL applications). For now, work
around it by not using non-power-of-two textures on this combination.
* bring back 'player' libtype, after investigation with ideasman.
scons/mingw works nicely, for some reason msvc fails to link still, will look further into it.
* first working changes to get blenderplayer linking
* blenderplayer/ moved into source/ (CMakeLists.txt changed for that too)
* added externs for bprogname to gp_ghost, so that it links properly
After talking with Ton and Campbell we agreed that it wouldn't hurt to have blenderplayer again (specially now since BGE is almost 100% working in 2.5).
However in order to make it link, I needed to bring back stubs, a lot of so-called bad calls.
I'm not sure how we should proceed from here, but it looks like people could start to take a look at source/blenderplayer/bad_level_calls_stubs/stubs.c and fix their own modules/functions
** NOTE: I removed the sound calls from BlenderPlayer. In order to fix it look at //XXX ADD SOUND in GPG_Application.cpp and GPC_Engine
*** tested in CMake+MSVC.
- Scons is not building !!! (why does the building systems have to be so different?)
And someone may like to fix make. (take a look at /trunk/source/blender/blenkernel/bad_level_call_stubs/Makefile )
**** it may work better inside /source/gameengine/GamePlayer
* Add BGE_CXXFLAGS so we can get rid of hard-coded BGE compiler settings. This was only done for windows, but now linuxers and osxers should be able to set BGE-specific optimisation too. See the windows default configs for example.
* Added Shading and Performance panels in the scene buttons,
containing the options previously in the 2.4x game menu.
* Added show framerate/debug/physics/warnings back in game menu.
* Moved these settings from G.fileflags to scene GameData.
* Enabled Display Lists by default.
* Some other small game scene button tweaks.
Logic Panel:
- world settings (moved from world)
... that includes physic engine selection + gravity
- game player (from gamesettings, it wasn't wrapped)
- stereo/dome (from gamesettings, it wasn't wrapped)
... separated stereom into stereoflag and stereomode
- properties
... (didn't touch it)
Buttons Game Panel:
(wip panel)
- Physics (moved from Logic Panel)
... it will be a datablock in the future (right Campbell ?)
- Material Physics (not currently implemented)
... a datablock link to the materials of an object + the dynamic physic variables
* NOTE:
in readfile.c::do_version I couldn't do if(scene->world). There is something wrong with scenes with an unlinked world. So so far we are ignoring the old values....
* ensure all SConscripts are ready for win64-vc (where necessary).
* ensure we have proper _DEBUG flag for Python when we're doing a debug build.
* some cleaning up of linking etc.
* ensure /EHsc is there for game engine modules.
* removed radiosity render code, DNA and RNA (left in radio render pass options), we'll get GI to replace this probably, better allow baking to vertex colors for people who used this.
* removed deprecated solid physics library, sumo integrations and qhull, a dependency
* removed ODE, was no longer being build or supported
* remove BEOS and AMIGA defines and references in Makefiles.
* Optimized RNA property lookups and path resolving, still can be
much better, but now the 1000 IPO example on bf-taskforce25
runs at reasonable speed.
* Also an optimization in the depsgraph when dealing with many
objects, this was actually also a bottleneck here.
* Started porting over to python, menus nearly done, header WIP.
* Game Properties panel is in python too
* Deprecated "Tiles" as a per face flag here, now it's always on
the image, used to be both, working in a very confusing way.
Unlikely someone actually had a purpose for this being per face.
* Remove GPC_PolygonMaterial.cpp/h, it's not actually used anymore,
so I don't want to bother updating it.
* Fix crash in image painting (own mistake in porting over bugfix
from 2.4x).
* Missing changes to release/windows/installer
* Sequencer fixes in source/blender/src/seqaudio.c dont apply to 2.5
* brechts fix for #18855 r20763 wasnt merged, does this apply to 2.5?
svn merge https://svn.blender.org/svnroot/bf-blender/trunk/blender -r19820:HEAD
Notes:
* Game and sequencer RNA, and sequencer header are now out of date
a bit after changes in trunk.
* I didn't know how to port these bugfixes, most likely they are
not needed anymore.
* Fix "duplicate strip" always increase the user count for ipo.
* IPO pinning on sequencer strips was lost during Undo.
- Removed/Commented some unused vars
- CValue::GetPropertyText() could return a temp reference to a variable on the stack, option wasnt used anywhere so removed.
- KX_ConstraintWrapper::GetConstraintId allows args but ignored them
- KX_ConstraintWrapper::PySetParam didnt return NULL on an error (messing up pythons exceptions).
- BLI_natstrcmp didnt return 0 when the while loop exited
- Size adjustments can be accomplished with warp mesh data now. So we get a free spot in the GUI for a tilt option.
- Tilt option to tilt the camera (for planetarium domes).
Angle is in degree from -180 to +180. It's needed for planetarium domes (as this one http://domejunky.blogspot.com/2009/05/dome-corrected-bge.html ).
- This is the last commit regarding dome code I expected to 2.49. I consider this feature full implemented now. (working on docs now)
1) Remove WITH_FREETYPE2 from code, so now blender always need freetype2
2) Remove the old bmfont
3) Remove ftfont and bFTGL library
4) Implement a new BLF_draw_default function for place that still need/use
the old BMF api.
I try to update both, scons and cmake, but I only can test with make, so
hope all work fine.
MSVC is broken, but I don't have Windows, things to search and fix are
any reference to WITH_FREETYPE2, FTGL and BMFONT (take in care that
blenkernel also have a BKE_bmfont.h, this don't have anything to do with bmfont).
Always have to link/include the freetype2 library
Remove any reference to libbmfont
Remove any reference to libftfont
Remove any reference to libbftgl (or libbFTGL)
sys.path is the search path for python modules. This is useful so people making games can put all their scripts in a folder and be sure they will always load into the BGE.
for each blend file a scripts directory is added to the path
/home/me/foo.blend
will look for modules in...
/home/me/scripts/*.py
It could also default to look for modules in the same directory as the blend file but I think this is messy.
Added a note in the tooltip about //scripts so its not such a hidden feature.
This works by storing the original sys.path, then adding the paths for the blendfile and all its libs,
when a new blendfile is loaded, the original sys.path is restored before adding the blendfiles paths again so the sys.path wont get junk in it.
One problem with this - when using linked libs the module names must be unique else it will load the wrong module for one of the controllers.
also fixed 2 bugs
- sys.path in the blenderplayer was growing by 1 for every file load in blenderplayer
- the relative path (gp_GamePythonPath), wasnt being set when loading files in the blenderlayer (as I wrongly said in the last commit).
- initialize pythons sys.argv in the blenderplayer
- ignore all arguments after a single " - " in the blenderplayer (like in blender), so args can be passed to the game.
- add a utility function PyOrientationTo() - to take a Py euler, quat or 3x3 matrix and convert into a C++ MT_Matrix3x3.
- add utility function ConvertPythonToMesh to get a RAS_MeshObject from a KX_MeshProxy or a name.
- Added error prefix arguments to ConvertPythonToGameObject, ConvertPythonToMesh and PyOrientationTo so the error messages can include what function they came from.
- deprecated brick.getOwner() for the "owner" attribute.
User guide:
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Source/GameEngine/Fisheye_Dome_Camera
Fixed two bugs from original patch:
- deleting a text will clear the warp field from Game framing settings
- removed spurious black dots along the edge of the cube map in the gameplayer
Known limitation:
- resizing of the screen doesn't work in the gameplayer
Known bugs:
- Texture with reflexion are not rendered correctly
- Spurious problems with light
Previously this only worked with the Blender API.
- bpy_internal_import small C file that Blender scripting and the game engine use.
- Tested with blender, blenderplayer, loading files
- Needed to use a hack to override the Main struct since the game engine doesn't set G.main
- when the sandbox is set, only internal scripts can be imported.
other scenes, for texture face / multitexture materials.
Fix for bug #18428: BGE lights on hidden layers were still used,
for all material types, now they have no effect
Notes:
* Sequence transform strip uses G.scene global, this is commented
out now, should be fixed.
* Etch-a-ton code was most difficult to merge. The files already in
2.5 got merged, but no new files were added. Calls to these files
are commented out with "XXX etch-a-ton". editarmature.c and
transform_snap.c were complex to merge. Martin, please check?
* Game engine compiles and links again here for scons/make/cmake
(player still fails to link).
[#17974] two small fix for blender 2.48 (memory leak and uninitalized vars)
Submitted By:
Pavel Nemec (nemecp)
(changes delete to [] and sets to vars to NULL)
Kent
* giving compileflags, cc_compileflags and cxx_compileflags to BlenderLib() now actually overrides any other setting (so there's no unclarity when ie. conflicting options are being specified in REL_CFLAGS et al). These are set after either release or debug flags, but before any *_WARN flags (so those stay maintained).
* add cxx_compileflags for GE parts on win32-vc to have better performance.
* NOTE: if platform maintainers (OSX and Linux) could check and do the same for their systems. Not vital, but probably very, very much welcomed by GE users.
vector in perspective mode. This is default OpenGL behavior, but
by now this optimization is really insignificant. Works in both
the 3d view and game engine.
Think global, act local!
The old favorite G.scene gone! Man... that took almost 2 days.
Also removed G.curscreen and G.edbo.
Not everything could get solved; here's some notes.
- modifiers now store current scene in ModifierData. This is not
meant for permanent, but it can probably stick there until we
cleaned the anim system and depsgraph to cope better with
timing issues.
- Game engine G.scene should become an argument for staring it.
Didn't solve this yet.
- Texture nodes should get scene cfra, but the current implementation
is too tightly wrapped to do it easily.
The principle is to replace most get/set methods of logic bricks by direct property access.
To make porting of game code easier, the properties have usually the same type and use than
the return values/parameters of the get/set methods.
More details on http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/GameEngineDev/Python_API_Clean_Up
Old methods are still available but will produce deprecation warnings on the console:
"<method> is deprecated, use the <property> property instead"
You can avoid these messages by turning on the "Ignore deprecation warnings" option in Game menu.
PyDoc is updated to include the new properties and display a deprecation warning
for the get/set methods that are being deprecated.
to compile blender with gcc on IRIX, IRIX_USE_GCC needs to be set to true in
user-def.mk.
Other changes related to irix:
* compile solid from extern/
* don't build plugins (yet) with "make release" when using gcc (the shell
script used assumes MIPSpro is installed)
* use statvfs instead of statfs on irix, like done on solaris
* use external libs from $(LCGDIR) instead of /usr/freeware
* use glew header files from $(LCGDIR)/glew instead of the ones installed on
the system (this applies to other platforms as well)
* ffmpeg support currently is disabled on irix
svn merge https://svn.blender.org/svnroot/bf-blender/trunk/blender -r12987:17416
Issues:
* GHOST/X11 had conflicting changes. Some code was added in 2.5, which was
later added in trunk also, but reverted partially, specifically revision
16683. I have left out this reversion in the 2.5 branch since I think it is
needed there.
http://projects.blender.org/plugins/scmsvn/viewcvs.php?view=rev&root=bf-blender&revision=16683
* Scons had various conflicting changes, I decided to go with trunk version
for everything except priorities and some library renaming.
* In creator.c, there were various fixes and fixes for fixes related to the -w
-W and -p options. In 2.5 -w and -W is not coded yet, and -p is done
differently. Since this is changed so much, and I don't think those fixes
would be needed in 2.5, I've left them out.
* Also in creator.c: there was code for a python bugfix where the screen was not
initialized when running with -P. The code that initializes the screen there
I had to disable, that can't work in 2.5 anymore but left it commented as a
reminder.
Further I had to disable some new function calls. using src/ and python/, as
was done already in this branch, disabled function calls:
* bpath.c: error reporting
* BME_conversions.c: editmesh conversion functions.
* SHD_dynamic: disabled almost completely, there is no python/.
* KX_PythonInit.cpp and Ketsji/ build files: Mathutils is not there, disabled.
* text.c: clipboard copy call.
* object.c: OB_SUPPORT_MATERIAL.
* DerivedMesh.c and subsurf_ccg, stipple_quarttone.
Still to be done:
* Go over files and functions that were moved to a different location but could
still use changes that were done in trunk.
kept as the original file, but that can't work correct for solving
relative paths once a .blend in another directory is loaded. The
reason it went OK with the apricot tech demo is that the images there
were lib linked into the level file, which still worked.
Now it sets G.sce to the current loaded .blend file. Note that the
python config file path still uses the first loaded .blend file so it
looks in the same location each time.
Also added some NULL pointer checks in the joystick code because it
was crashing there on Mac, there's similar checks in related functions
so I'm assuming this was just a missed case.
but don't have an action got the pose of already added armatures, even
though they're not related. This also fixes an issue where the armature
in Blender would end up in the pose from the game after ESC, removes
unneeded copies made during armature evaluation, and also solves the
constraint copying hack.
work in the game player, now the IK lib is linked into the player.
Makefiles/Scons/CMake buildsystems have been updated.
Fix materials nodes to work in the game player.
player did not enable mipmapping when falling back to texfaces.
Also commented out code that disabled mipmapping in the player on
Mac OS X. If that is a workaround for a bug it is a really poor one,
and hopefully fixed now since this code is from 2002 or earlier.
* Fix issue with add transparency mode with blender materials.
* Possible fix at frontface flip in the game engine.
* Fix color buffering clearing for multiple viewports, it used
to clear as if there was one.
* Fix for zoom level in user defined viewports, it was based on
the full window before, now it is based on the viewport itself.
* For user defined viewports, always use Expose instead of
Letterbox with bars, the latter doesn't make sense then.
working with relative paths. Still doesn't work optimal, since
paths are relative to game.blend which is in the app bundle
under Contents/Resources, so other files need to be moved there
manually at the moment.
saves a marshal'd GameLogic.globalDict to the blendfile path with the blend extension replaced with bgeconf
Use this in YoFrankie to save keyboard layout and graphics quality settings.
the features that are needed to run the game. Compile tested with
scons, make, but not cmake, that seems to have an issue not related
to these changes. The changes include:
* GLSL support in the viewport and game engine, enable in the game
menu in textured draw mode.
* Synced and merged part of the duplicated blender and gameengine/
gameplayer drawing code.
* Further refactoring of game engine drawing code, especially mesh
storage changed a lot.
* Optimizations in game engine armatures to avoid recomputations.
* A python function to get the framerate estimate in game.
* An option take object color into account in materials.
* An option to restrict shadow casters to a lamp's layers.
* Increase from 10 to 18 texture slots for materials, lamps, word.
An extra texture slot shows up once the last slot is used.
* Memory limit for undo, not enabled by default yet because it
needs the .B.blend to be changed.
* Multiple undo for image painting.
* An offset for dupligroups, so not all objects in a group have to
be at the origin.
rayCast(to,from,dist,prop,face,xray,poly):
The face paremeter determines the orientation of the normal:
0 or omitted => hit normal is always oriented towards the ray origin (as if you casted the ray from outside)
1 => hit normal is the real face normal (only for mesh object, otherwise face has no effect)
The ray has X-Ray capability if xray parameter is 1, otherwise the first object hit (other than self object) stops the ray.
The prop and xray parameters interact as follow:
prop off, xray off: return closest hit or no hit if there is no object on the full extend of the ray.
prop off, xray on : idem.
prop on, xray off: return closest hit if it matches prop, no hit otherwise.
prop on, xray on : return closest hit matching prop or no hit if there is no object matching prop on the full extend of the ray.
if poly is 0 or omitted, returns a 3-tuple with object reference, hit point and hit normal or (None,None,None) if no hit.
if poly is 1, returns a 4-tuple with in addition a KX_PolyProxy as 4th element.
The KX_PolyProxy object holds information on the polygon hit by the ray: the index of the vertex forming the poylgon, material, etc.
Attributes (read-only):
matname: The name of polygon material, empty if no material.
material: The material of the polygon
texture: The texture name of the polygon.
matid: The material index of the polygon, use this to retrieve vertex proxy from mesh proxy
v1: vertex index of the first vertex of the polygon, use this to retrieve vertex proxy from mesh proxy
v2: vertex index of the second vertex of the polygon, use this to retrieve vertex proxy from mesh proxy
v3: vertex index of the third vertex of the polygon, use this to retrieve vertex proxy from mesh proxy
v4: vertex index of the fourth vertex of the polygon, 0 if polygon has only 3 vertex
use this to retrieve vertex proxy from mesh proxy
visible: visible state of the polygon: 1=visible, 0=invisible
collide: collide state of the polygon: 1=receives collision, 0=collision free.
Methods:
getMaterialName(): Returns the polygon material name with MA prefix
getMaterial(): Returns the polygon material
getTextureName(): Returns the polygon texture name
getMaterialIndex(): Returns the material bucket index of the polygon.
getNumVertex(): Returns the number of vertex of the polygon.
isVisible(): Returns whether the polygon is visible or not
isCollider(): Returns whether the polygon is receives collision or not
getVertexIndex(vertex): Returns the mesh vertex index of a polygon vertex
getMesh(): Returns a mesh proxy
New methods of KX_MeshProxy have been implemented to retrieve KX_PolyProxy objects:
getNumPolygons(): Returns the number of polygon in the mesh.
getPolygon(index): Gets the specified polygon from the mesh.

workaround for python stopping and starting by storing the dictionary as marshal'd data. this means only python types are supported.
This feature is needed so when switching from a menu to a level blendfile, the configuration isnt lost.
* GBE Python API's alignToVect wasnt clamping the align ammount from 0.0-1.0
* Generated images arnt animated - use for a test to see if the textures animated.
